Create Music

“Azam'ra L’Elohai B’odi Aha'l’la Halleluyah!”

All Sing to You, all Praise to You, O Source of All Creation.

We call Your Name, we Sing Your Praise, O Holy One of Blessing.

Halleluyah!

-Psalm 146

B’ruchim Habaim!

Welcome to Temple Emanu-El music!

Music is at the core of our Temple Emanu-El family.

Through music, we seek to inspire and engage congregants within the walls of our synagogue and into Greater Metro Atlanta.

ACTIVE, MULTI-GENERATIONAL, SELF-SUSTAINING

All ages of our community participate in an active musical life. We engage our community with exploration of musical life and culture. We cultivate a shared knowledge of our musical traditions and history, while ever broadening our musical vocabulary. Congregants form the foundation of our musical programming; performing in various musical events, and helping to sustain a high caliber level of artistry and performance.

CANTOR LAUREN FURMAN ADESNIK

Singing Our Praises

Participating in choir is not only fun but allows me to connect to Judaism on such a deep and personal level. Working with Cantor Adesnik and the Choir has allowed me to study and learn Jewish prayers and songs and their meanings.  This makes the service come alive for me. Being in choir has allowed me to make some really special friendships with people that I might not otherwise would have met. The best part of being in the choir is not performing.  It is going to practices, learning about Judaism and music and spending time with some really interesting friends.

Honestly, you are the reason I show up for Friday night services.  It's your voice that puts me into the Shabbos spirit, and your voice that touches something deep in my soul, bringing great peace and contentment.  You and your music and your spiritual commitment create great ruach on Friday nights that I've not experienced in other synagogues.  The service is joyful! The highlight of your being at TE is the concerts.  Each one has been outstanding, and we've felt truly blessed to participate.   Further, the clergy's collective welcoming of everyone to the service and sincere desire that we connect as a "community" with words, prayer, and music is priceless.  Again, we feel blessed to be a part of such an emotionally uplifting environment.

Arlene Katz

Under Cantor Adesnick's leadership, music and song at services helps me spiritually "be in the moment," putting all else out of my mind, and being within myself.  The various concerts our music program includes add an exciting, pleasurable dimension to our Temple community.

Our cantor, Lauren Adesnik, is incredible and makes our synagogue very special! Lauren has the most beautiful voice by far, and her music brings a new spirit and energy to our services and concerts.

The music program at Temple Emanu El has been transformative for us, particularly for our son.  It has fostered a renewed sense of spirituality and devotion to Judaism that simply would not exist without it.  It has provided a wonderful outlet for creativity, leadership and friendship for him.

Kitty Ragals

Our Shabbat services are so uplifting because of  the music we enjoy. Congregants are constantly amazed at the variety and the selection of songs that we enjoy each Friday night…..with the angelic voice of Cantor Lauren Adesnik,  accompanied by her excellent guitar music and her beautiful smile. We are also fortunate to have a wonderful choir on the High Holidays,  adding to our Cantor’s  beautiful presentation…..
