Sisterhood

We invite you to join women around the world in a common bond of caring for our families, our temple family, Israel, and the community. Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood provides a foundation and support system for the women of Temple Emanu-El. Educational and cultural enrichment is offered through book reviews and special programs such as our Women’s Seder. We also offer a variety of social programming for women and their families. We strive to embrace all members, to be an organization where women of all ages can contribute and participate at whatever level that they are comfortable.

Sisterhood is an integral part of Temple Emanu-El. Many of our contributions are woven into the very fabric of this congregation. We help to support our congregation in numerous ways. We are proud of our Judaica Shop, which is available for all of your B’nai Mitzvah needs as well as baby gifts, hostess gifts, wedding gifts, and housewarming gifts.

The proceeds from the Judaica Shop go to support different events within the congregation as well as leadership development. Sisterhood is an organization that prides ourselves on helping the Rabbi, Cantor, and congregation with their special projects when asked. Therefore, when you join Sisterhood you are also supporting Temple Emanu-El!

Our Sisterhood is a part of an important North American organization, Women of Reform Judaism, and is committed to its goals. Even if you cannot actively participate, your membership will support our many important programs and projects. Help us reach 100% Sisterhood membership by sending in your dues today. 36% of the basic/Leah dues we pay supports WRJ and the Southeast District.

Please visit Women of Reform Judaism for more information. In order to do the best we can for our Sisterhood and meet our responsibilities, please keep this mind when you choose your membership level as a greater percentage of our dues will remain within our organization.

Remember that whether you are joining for the first time or renewing your membership, we appreciate your support. We need the support of every woman in the congregation. It is our sincere hope that every woman will join us. Whether you come to meetings, programs, help coordinate programs, or just submit your dues, you are choosing to support Sisterhood. Your level of participation is up to you. Remember that a group of dynamic, warm, and inspired women await you however you choose to participate.

B’Shalom
