Stephen has been a congregant with Temple Emanu-El for more than 10 years. He has a comprehensive background in both the hospitality and finance industries and became Executive Director in December 2016. Stephen enjoys contributing to each congregant’s connection with Jewish life and guiding our synagogue in meaningful contributions within the community.
After being a member of The Temple Emanu-El Congregation for 5 years, Beth joined The Diamond Family Religious School teaching staff in 2011. Beth has been a public school teacher since 2001 and was excited to bring her educational talents to the Religious School. Beth became the Director of Education in 2015 and has been working diligently to update and modernize the Religious School by creating a more interactive approach to learning Hebrew as well as Judaics.
Beth hails from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the University of Alabama. Beth, her husband, Stephen, and their two children, Mason and Ryan, live in Marietta, Georgia. Beth and her family love spending time together traveling, seeing movies, and going to concerts.
Sheila Purdin began her career in early education over 25 years ago in her native Seattle, WA. She joined Schiff Preschool of Temple Emanu-El in 2012. She is an active member of the Jewish Early Childhood Council of Atlanta, having served as co-chair and chairing the Kallah planning committee, and is currently the VP of Marketing for Early Childhood Educators of Reform Judaism. She participated in the URJ Pursuing Excellence in Your Early Childhood Center Community of Practice. She is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University and Kendall College. She lives in Roswell with her dog Lulu, and has two adult children, that are pretty fantastic.
