Support special programs to strengthen interfaith and race relations.
In thinking about religion and society in the 21st century, we should broaden the conversation about faith from doctrinal debates to the larger question of how it might inspire us to strengthen the bonds of belonging that redeem us from our solitude, helping us to construct together a gracious and generous social order. -Rabbi Jonathan Sacks
We have taken on a long-term goal to build friendships with local multifaith and interracial groups to make connections and find commonalities.
We have made connections with:
- Muslims from the Atlanta Institute
- Asian and Pacific Islanders from AAPI
- Presbyterians from St. Luke’s in Dunwoody
- Baptists from Dunwoody Baptist
- Methodists from Dunwoody United
- Cornerstone Methodist
- Atlanta B’hai Community
and the list continues. We have attended events in one another’s houses of worship, and the momentum continues to build.
Beyond this, we also recognize that sharing this education with members of other faiths is of equal importance.
We seek to interact and share via two main efforts. The first is the aforementioned Multifaith Connections and Interracial Alliances group. The second is an ongoing series of open-to-the-public educational programs. These have included the immensely successful programs:
Why the Jews
Project Shema- Building Bridges Through Understanding
Table of Abraham
You+ 2, and more
