Mission Statement
Temple Emanu-El aims to combat Antisemitism within the synagogue's local community in a variety of ways. This includes providing tools (through our Response Committee) to provide support/guidance to our Temple Emanu-El congregants who may experience an antisemitic incident. We have provided a checklist of action steps in response to various types of incidents. If you have experienced Antisemitism, we invite you to utilize this resource so that our community can be helpful. We are all in this together. You are not alone.
We have also provided resources to help parents effectively communicate with their children’s teachers about Jewish holidays and dates.

Do You Know About the Daffodil Project?
As part of its mission the Daffodil project aspires to plant 1.5 million Daffodils worldwide in remembrance of the children that were killed during the Holocaust. The daffodil was chosen as it is the color of the yellow Star of David that Jews were forced to wear during the Holocaust. The petals look like a Star of David. Daffodils represent our poignant hope for the future; they are resilient and return with a burst of color each spring signifying hope, renewal and beauty.
We are proud that our Anti-Semitism Committee has adopted this project and are working on schools to participate in this in the Metropolitan Atlanta area. We plant daffodils at Temple Emanu-El every year.
To be able to fund this project now and in the future, The Daffodil Project Fund has been established. Please consider making donations to this fund so we can continue to educate people about the genocide of the Holocaust.
The synagogue's initiative to combat antisemitism has committed to bring the Daffodil Project to at least 5 new schools each year. See the photos below of this fall’s programs. Temple Emanu-El expresses our condolences, outrage, and solidarity with our local Muslim friends from the Istanbul Cultural Center, with whom we have had a relationship with for years. We received a similar letter from them the day after the Hamas attack in Israel (last week). Hate has no place here.
