My fifth grader had her best year of religious school ever this past year. She was able to progress with her prayers and kippah levels at her own pace and her teachers were fun and engaging. The switch to one day of Hebrew per week was also ideal for our busy family.
After much objection about registering, my 10th grader actually really enjoyed religious school this year. He was very interested in debating modern Jewish issues and learning about Judaism from the Rabbis. The Washington DC trip was a highlight of his entire year.

My family loves having formal Religious School one day each week - it is truly what allows us the flexibility to attend a synagogue that we love but that is outside of our immediate neighborhood. Our daughter loves the flexibility of being able to study on her own during the week, which I believe has helped her to go further faster than leaning on the crutch of weekday Hebrew. Our son loves the extra activities, like Yoga Yeladim and Music.

We can't say enough about Temple Emanu-El and the Religious School program. Everyone (teachers, Rabbi, Cantor, school principal, temple director) are the most welcoming & friendly group of people ever. My sons have special needs and everyone has been more than willing to assist me in ensuring that they get the best Jewish education possible. I think that the curriculum from kindergarten through Bar Mitzvah & beyond is well thought out & progressive. Each year builds on the next and is designed to move students through the important milestones of Jewish education and beyond. I am so grateful that we joined Temple Emanu-El and have our sons in the religious school there. It is the best place for us & we strongly suggest it to other families looking for a strong Jewish educational experience in a warm and welcoming environment.
