Afghan Refugee Team

Coordinating efforts to assist Afghan refugees as they make their way to Atlanta. Ages 22+

Antisemitism Team

Get involved to help combat Antisemitism through education, action, and outreach.

Backpack Buddies Team

Packs food in backpacks and delivers the bags to local schools for students who are in need. Ages 12+

Brotherhood Team

Plans and coordinates the social calendar for the male-identifying congregants of TE. Ages 22+

Caring Team

Connects with congregants during lifecycle events: births, weddings, conversions, funerals, and those experiencing health challenges through phone calls, greeting cards, and coordinating food delivery. Ages 12+

Chevrah Torah Team (Torah Study)

Helps coordinate with new members or current members who haven't been to Chevrah Torah before. Ages 22+

Choir Team

Lay-led choir for Shabbat and Holidays. Ages 22+

College Outreach Team

Distributes seasonal holiday gifts to TE's college-attending students. Ages 22+

Community Assistance Center Team

Volunteers the 3rd Saturday of the month to help stock shelves and serve clients. Ages 12+

Dick Wilson Golf Team

Plan, Organize, Recruit, and Execute the Annual Golf Tournament. Ages 22+

Garden Isaiah Team

Plants, harvests, and distributes the yield of TE's garden to local foodbanks. Ages 5+

Gift Shop Team

Assists congregants and community members to shop at the giftshop. Ages 22+

Green Team (Environment)

For those with an environmental interest, this TEam works with the Environmental Committee to help as projects arise. Ages 12+

Immigration Reform Team

Facilitates TE's efforts to welcome refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants to the Atlanta-area. Ages 12+

Interfaith Families Team

Organizes opportunities for interfaith families to meet, support one another, and share similar experiences and stories. Ages 22+

Interfaith/Race Relations Team

Outreach and collaboration with communities of other faiths. Ages 12+

Israel/AIPAC Team

If you want to learn about lobbying local elected officiaals on the importance of the US/Isreal relationship. Ages 12+

Koleinu Inclusion Awareness Team

Ensures that TE's practices and procedures enable members of all abilities to strengthen their Jewish identity. Ages 22+

Life and Legacy Team

Responsible for encouraging TE members to name TE in their will. Ages 22+

Life Long Learning Team

Helps coordinate with new members or current members who haven't been to TE classes before and can help to make sure there is someone to sit with, etc. 

Mary Hall Freedom Village Team

Teams serve and prepare dinner for the women and children once a month (Ages 4+). Other opportunities include: after-school help, baby holding (Ages 22+)

Membership Team

Coordinates efforts to attract new members to TE. Ages 22+

New Schticks on the Block Team

Prepares the yearly Purim Schpeil and can brainstorm other performances. Ages 6+

NextDor Team (20&30s)

Get involved in the 20s & 30s Group. Ages 22-39

Oneg Team

Bakes and plates desserts for the Friday night oneg. Ages 12+

PR and Marketing Team

Promotes TE's achievements to the local media outfits. Ages 12+

Sababa Team

A demographic-specific team who coordinates the social calendar for TE's 65 and better population. Ages 65+

Sacred Music Team

Questions about concerts, Jewish musical programs, etc. Ages 22+

Shoah Committee/Holocaust Team

Promotes the stories of TE's survivors and their descendants to increase awareness of the Shoah within the TE and around the Atlanta-area. Ages 12+

Sisterhood Team

Plans and coordinates the social calendar for the female-identifying congregants of TE. Ages 22+

Special Events Team

Plans, organizes, and executes synagogue-wide events like: Previous events 40th Anniversary, Maccabee, Tribe Event Coordinators. Ages 22+

Social Connections - Adult Night Out Team

Plans and executes social outings for TE's adult demographics. Ages 22+

Softball Team

Plays softball in the city-wide synagogue league. Ages 16+

TE Boomers Team

A demographic-specific team who coordinates the social calendar for the active seniors of TE. Boomers

TE/Davis Connection Team

Liases between the rabbis of TE and the families who send their children to The Davis Academy. Ages 22+

TEFTY Team

9th-12th Grade Youth Group. Ages 14-18

Tribe Team
  • Plans and executive programs for women in their 30s, 40s, 50s. Ages 30–59
Ukrainian Team

Help Ukrainian refugees that have recently moved to Atlanta.

Usher Team

Help our services run smoothly by lending a hand to be a point of contact for our High Holy Day Services.

Young Family Services Team

Encourage a relationship between young parents and the  synagogue. Ages 22+

Zaban Paradies Team

Help support the only shelter in Atlanta that provides housing for couples. Members teams of 4–5 cook and serve two dinner meals per month to the homeless couples living at the Zaban Paradies shelter. 19th and 20th of each month. Ages 12+

Ambassador On-Boarding Committee

Committee members are assigned new members of the congregation to invite to join them for programs. Ages 22+

Chaverah Committee

1–3 individuals who help coordinate the Chaverah program and help chaverot launch by attending the first meeting. Ages 22+

Dick Wilson Scholarship Committee

Decide requirements for applicants, blind review and select awardees. Ages 22+

Endowment Committee

Help ensure the future of Temple Emanu-El’s financial stability by raising money for our endowment fund.

Facilities Committee

Help guide the needs of our building and grounds to ensure ongoing maintenance and improvements.

Financial Council Committee

Fiduciary health of the congregation. Ages 22+

Religious School Committee

Lay-leadership support to the Director of the Diamond Family Religious School to ensure TE is meeting its educational goals. Ages 22+

Security Committee

Implements security protocols and procedures for TE. Ages 22+

Social Justice Committee

Coordinates TE's efforts to heal the world based on our Jewish values. Ages 22+
