Jewish Abilities Alliance - How we partner with them.
The Greater Atlanta Jewish Abilities Alliance (JAA) powered by Federation believes that everyone in our community should have the opportunity to experience and celebrate our shared values, history and traditions.
The JAA assists families in finding programs and services they need for their loved ones with different abilities, strengthening their connection and enabling them to more fully participate in their communities. Making Jewish life more accessible for all is our primary goal.
Temple Emanu-El partners with the JAA in multiple ways. We receive training and support provided by the Community Inclusion Coordinator (CIC).
These trainings support our teachers and staff in becoming more inclusive and better understand how to implement supports in our classrooms. The CIC is also available to observe classrooms, which provides our teachers with individualized attention. Temple Emanu-El is involved in the JAA Community Disability Partner Meetings, where the main goal is to make Atlanta a more welcoming Jewish community.
