Temple Emanu-El is Committed to Addressing Food Insecurity in Our Neighborhoods.

1 in 7.5 people, or an estimated 755,400 people, in metro Atlanta and north Georgia turn to food pantries and meal service programs to feed themselves and their families each year. This includes more than 164,000 children and more than 64,000 seniors. Join us in our efforts to address Food Insecurity in our area. Below are events and volunteer opportunities to make a difference through Temple Emanu-El.

Garden Isaiah

Feed those in need by tending to our garden. Plant the seed of giving with your own family.
Needed: All skill sets and ages welcome, but also need volunteers with minimal carpentry skills
When: Volunteers needed every Sunday 9-12.

Zaban Paradies Center for Homeless Couples

Help support the only shelter in Atlanta that provides housing for couples. Temple Emanu-El members cook and serve two dinner meals per month to the homeless couples living at the Zaban Paradies shelter.
Needed: 4-5 individuals(ages 12 and older) to serve dinner. More participants are welcome to help prepare dinner in advance.
When: Temple Emanu-El's days of service occur on the 19th and 20th of each month.

Volunteers working at the Community Action Center, bringing barrels of fruit.

Community Assitance Center

CAC provides multiple services to underprivileged families including food pantry, financial assistance, and supplies.

Needed: Adults

CAC North located at 8607 Roswell Rd., Sandy Springs
When: Volunteers needed every second Saturday from 10am -2pm
One training session is required. A bi-monthly commitment for one year is encouraged.
